WBZC-FM radio correspondents are set to broadcast live from six homes games at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. They also plan to provide commentary for the Veterans Arena Game, which features active reservists and veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces, after the Soul game on June 22.
The Philadelphia Soul, now in its eighth season, is the city's Arena Football League team.
This new partnership, in addition to the station’s longstanding relationship with the Camden Riversharks, gives BCC students the opportunity to work with professional sports teams and build their broadcasting portfolios.
Through WBZC-FM partnerships, students learn aspects of a professional sports team broadcast from production to promotion.
“The hands-on experience the students gain is priceless, as are the college’s marketing and promotional opportunities at the home games in the Wells Fargo Center," WBZC-FM operations manager and programming director Brett Holcomb said in a statement.
The next live broadcast is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. on May 18 when the Soul host the Orlando Predators. A complete schedule of home games is online at philadelphiasoul.com.
Broadcasts can be heard on 88.9 (Bordentown- Atlantic City), 95.1 (Burlington - Bristol), 100.7 (Mount Holly -Lumberton), and online at Z889.org.
