Albannach to play at Renaissance Faire

May 22, 2013 07:51AM, Published by Community News Service, Categories: Arts+Entertainment

Albannach, a Scottish band, is set to perform at the New Jersey Renaissance Faire June 1 and 2.

Albannach is Scots-Gaelic for “Scottish” or “Scotsman,” and that’s exactly what they are.

The members of Albannach were all born and bred in Scotland, and aim to share their culture, history and heritage through authentic Scottish music.

Albannach are not a typical Scottish ‘pipes and drums’ band. They bring a uniquely primal excitement to a classic folk style of music.

Their award winning bagpiper, Donnie, is known throughout the world, as are their drummers and bodhran musicians.

The Renaissance Faire is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 1, 2, 8 and 9 at Liberty Lake, 1195 Florence-Columbus Road, Bordentown.

Admission is $20 for adults, $12 for children five to 12 years old and free for children four years old and younger.
