BRHS students to present 'The Miracle Worker'

Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14, 15 and 16 at the Bordentown Performing Arts Center, 318 Ward Avenue, Bordentown.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students. Tickets can be purchased online at seatyourself.biz/brhs or at the door.
The Miracle Worker tells the true story of Annie Sullivan and her student Helen Keller, who is deaf, blind and mute. Trapped in a secret, silent world, unable to communicate, Helen is violent, spoiled, almost sub-human and treated by her family as such. Only Annie realizes that there is a mind and spirit waiting to be rescued from the dark, tortured silence.
Senior Hannah Ayars, 2010 NJ Theatre Night Award nominee for Outstanding Leading Actress in a Play, is set to play Annie Sullivan and Jackie Ortolano is set to play Helen Keller.
The cast features seniors Elise LeMassena as Kate Keller, Marissa Migliarino as Beatrice and 2012 Greater Philadelphia Cappie nominee Matthew Dalton as Captain Keller.
Supporting cast members include juniors Leah Tasseff and Jordan Browne, sophomore Liam McCormack and freshmen Nathan Scranton, Michaela Mabin, Melanie Peterson and Nichomah Faiz.
In addition, The Miracle Worker features Bordentown Regional Middle School seventh grader Brianna Moran and Peter Muschal Elementary School first graders Paige Kerr and Casey Knipe.
Prior to the Friday evening performance, the BRHS Theatre Club Parent Boosters are set to sponsor a Dinner and a Show in the school cafeteria.
Tickets are $20 and include salad, beverage, a pasta dinner and dessert, as well a ticket and reserved seating to that evening’s performance. Tickets to this event must be purchased in advance at showtix4u.com.
In 2012, BRHS’ musical, Legally Blonde, was awarded the Greater Philadelphia Cappie Award for Outstanding Musical. Over the past three years, the Greater Philadelphia Cappie Awards have honored BRHS Theatre performances with 27 nominations and 10 awards.
BRHS performances have also been awarded and nominated for the New Jersey State Thespian Festival and the New Jersey Theatre Night Awards.
