The fully-fenced dog park is located at the rear of the baseball fields and encompasses 200 by 100 square feet of open grassy field divided into two areas — one for large and one for small dogs.
Bordentown Township Mayor Stephen Benowitz opened the park with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
During the grand opening, special recognition was given to The Nutro Company, a pet food manufacture who provided the Room to Run grant for the park and Bordentown resident Roger Plew who donated generously to the park in honor of his dog Hanna, for whom the park is named.
Bordentown resident Jill Popko, who spearheaded the grant application, said township dog owners needed a place for their pets to run free.
“Our pup loving community of well over 800 dogs will now have a place to enjoy the great outdoors in a safe, clean environment,” Popko said in a statement.
